Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
Harry Potter: Did you know, sir? Then?
Albus Dumbledore: Did I know that I just met the most dangerous dark wizard of all time? No.

Albus Dumbledore: This is beyond anything I have imagined.

Albus Dumbledore: [about Hermione] Are you and her...?
Harry Potter: Oh no, no, no. I mean, she's brilliant, but we're friends.

[in the hospital wing, Ron stirs]
Lavender Brown: Ah! See? He senses my presence.
[leans down]
Lavender Brown: Don't worry, Won-Won! I'm here. I'm here.
Ron Weasley: [croaks] Her... my... nee. Hermione...
[Hermione takes Ron's hand. Lavender runs out, sobbing. Awkward silence]
Albus Dumbledore: Oh, to be young and to feel love's keen sting.

Harry Potter: But, Sir, I thought we weren't allowed to apparate on Hogwarts' grounds.
Albus Dumbledore: Well, being me... has its privileges.

Albus Dumbledore: Ah, Harry... you need a shave, my friend.

Albus Dumbledore: [holding up a Muggle magazine] Horace, do you mind if I take this? I do love knitting patterns.

Bellatrix Lestrange: [walking into the astronomy tower followed by Death Eaters] Well look what we have here. Dumbledore wandless, alone and cornered in his own castle! Well done, Draco!
Albus Dumbledore: Good evening, Bellatrix. I think introductions are in order.
Bellatrix Lestrange: Love to, Albus, but I'm afraid we're on a bit of a tight schedule.
[to Draco]
Bellatrix Lestrange: Do it!
Fenrir Greyback: He doesn't have the stomach, like his father. Let me finish him in my own way.
Bellatrix Lestrange: No! The Dark Lord was clear, the boy's to do it.

Albus Dumbledore: Draco, years ago I knew a boy who made all the wrong choices. Please let me help you!
Draco Malfoy: [crying] I don't need your help! Don't you understand? I have to do this! I have to kill you... or he's gonna kill me!

Albus Dumbledore: [talking about Tom Riddle in the Great Hall] Every day, every hour, this very minute, perhaps, dark forces attempt to penetrate this castle's walls.
[pause]
Albus Dumbledore: But in the end, their greatest weapon... is you.

Albus Dumbledore: Take my arm.
[apparates]
Harry Potter: I just apparated, didn't I?
Albus Dumbledore: Indeed. Quite successfully, I might add. Most people vomit their first time.
Harry Potter: [dry-heaving] I can't imagine why.

[after exposing Slughorn's disguise]
Albus Dumbledore: I must say, Horace, you make a very convincing armchair.
Horace Slughorn: Oh, thank you. It's all in the upholstry.
[pats his stomach]
Horace Slughorn: I come about the stuffing naturally.

Severus Snape: Has it ever crossed your brilliant mind that I don't want to do this anymore?
Albus Dumbledore: Whether it has or it hasn't is irrelevant; you gave me your word.

Albus Dumbledore: Severus... please...
Severus Snape: [Pointing his wand at Dumbledore] Avada Kedavra!
[Light shoots out of his wand, killing Dumbledore]

Mrs. Cole: I must admit to some confusion receiving your letter, Professor Dumbledore. In all the years Tom's been here, he's never once had a family visitor. There have been... incidents with the other children. Nasty things.
[opens the door]
Mrs. Cole: Tom? You have a visitor.
Albus Dumbledore: How do you do, Tom?
Tom Riddle - Age 11: [without turning around] Go.
[cut to a short time later, as Dumbledore sits opposite Tom]
Tom Riddle - Age 11: You're the doctor, aren't you?
Albus Dumbledore: No, I'm a professor.
Tom Riddle - Age 11: I don't believe you. She wants me looked at. They think I'm... different.
Albus Dumbledore: Well, perhaps they're right.
Tom Riddle - Age 11: I'm not mad.
Albus Dumbledore: Hogwarts is not a place for mad people. Hogwarts is a school. A school of magic. You can do things can't you, Tom? That other children can't.
Tom Riddle - Age 11: I can make things move without touching them. I can make animals do what I want without training them. I can make bad things happen to people who are mean to me. I can make them hurt, if I want... Who are you?
Albus Dumbledore: Well, I'm like you, Tom. I'm different.
Tom Riddle - Age 11: Prove it.
[Dumbledore turns and looks at the wardrobe, which bursts into flames. Something rattles on the inside]
Albus Dumbledore: I think there's something in the wardrobe trying to get out, Tom.
[Tom opens the wardrobe, and dumps out the contents]
Albus Dumbledore: Thievery is not tolerated at Hogwarts, Tom. At Hogwarts you will be taught not only how to use magic, but how to control it. Do you understand me?
[Dumbledore starts to leave]
Tom Riddle - Age 11: I can speak to snakes, too. They find me... whisper things.
[Dumbledore stops, looking surprised]
Tom Riddle - Age 11: Is that normal, for someone like me?

Albus Dumbledore: [as Draco tries to muster the nerve to kill him] Draco... you are no assassin.

Albus Dumbledore: Oh, to be young and to feel love's keen sting.

Albus Dumbledore: Once again, I must ask too much of you, Harry.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] Voldemort has chosen Draco Malfoy for a mission.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] This is beyond anything I imagine.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer]
[to Harry]
Albus Dumbledore: What you are looking at are memories. In this case containing to one individual.
[takes a memory out]
Albus Dumbledore: This is perhaps the most important memory I've collected. I'd like you to see it.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] Harry, I'd like you to meet Professor Horace Slughorn.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] You're the Chosen One, Harry.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer]
[to Harry]
Albus Dumbledore: What you are looking at are memories. This is perhaps the most important memory I've collected. It is also a lie.

Tom Riddle - Age 11: [from trailer] Are you here to adopt me?
Albus Dumbledore: No.
Tom Riddle - Age 11: Who are you?
Albus Dumbledore: When I'm like you, Tom, I'm different.
Tom Riddle - Age 11: Prove it.
[Dumbledore conjures a fire]

Harry Potter: [from trailer] Did you know, sir? There?
Albus Dumbledore: Did I know that I just met the strangest dark wizard of all time? No.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] Without this memory, it leaves the fate of our world to chance. You must not fail.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] This is beyond anything I imagine. This is a different kind of magic. Very dark. Very parcel. Once again, I must ask too much of you, Harry.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] Without this, it leaves the fate of our world to chance.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] Every day. Every hour. This very minute, in fact, dark forces attempt to penetrate these walls. This time, I cannot help you destroy it... alone.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] This memory is everything.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] Years ago, I met a boy. He made all the wrong choices. You see, a student, like any other... his name was Tom Riddle. Today, the world knows him by another name... Voldemort.

Albus Dumbledore: [from trailer] This memory is a different kind of magic. Very dark. Very parcel. Without it, we are blind. It leaves the fate of our world to chance. You have no choice, you must not fail. Once again, I must ask too much of you, Harry.

Albus Dumbledore: [to Harry] What you are looking at are memories. In this case containing to one individual. Voldemort. Or as he was known then, Tom Riddle.
[takes a memory]
Albus Dumbledore: This file contains the most particular memory. The day I first met him. I'd like you to see it. If you want.
[Harry takes the memory, poors its contents into the Pensieve, puts his head in the Pensieve, and watches Mrs. Cole leading a younger Dumbledore to Tom Riddle]
Mrs. Cole: I must admit to some confusion receiving your letter, Mr. Dumbledore. In all the years Tom's been here he's never had a family visitor. There have been incidents with the other children. Nasty things.
[knocks on Tom Riddle's door and opens it]
Mrs. Cole: Tom, you have a visitor.
Albus Dumbledore: How do you do, Tom?
Tom Riddle - Age 11: Go.
[Dumbledore seats himself]
Tom Riddle - Age 11: You're the doctor, aren't you?
Albus Dumbledore: No. I'm a professor.
[a puzzled expression comes across Riddle's face]
Albus Dumbledore: You can do things, can't you, Tom? Things to the children, Tom.
Tom Riddle - Age 11: I can make things move without touching them. I can make animals do what I want without touching them. I can make bad things happen to people who are mean to me. I can make them hurt. If I want. Who are you?
Albus Dumbledore: I'm like you, Tom. I'm different.
Tom Riddle - Age 11: Prove it.
[Dumbledore conjures a fire in the wardrobe]
Albus Dumbledore: I think there's something in your wardrobe that's trying to get out, Tom.
[Riddle opens the burning wardrobe and finds a small box rattling, while the flames disappear]
Albus Dumbledore: Thievery is not tolerated at Hogwarts, Tom. At Hogwarts you will not only be taught how to use magic, but how to control it. Do you understand me?
[leaves]
Tom Riddle - Age 11: I can speak to snakes, too. They find me... whisper things.
[Dumbledore turns around]
Tom Riddle - Age 11: Is that normal for someone like me?
[Dumbledore looks at Riddle and Harry suddenly takes his head out of the Pensieve]

Albus Dumbledore: [holds up magazine] Do you mind if I take this, Horace? I do love knitting patterns.

Albus Dumbledore: I admit you do make a very convincing armchair, Horace.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Dumbledore: Do you know who I am? Do you?
Professor Moody: Albus Dumbledore.
Dumbledore: Are you Alastor Moody?
Professor Moody: ...no.

Professor McGonagall: This can't go on Albus. First the dark mark, now this?
Dumbledore: What do you suggest Minerva?
Professor McGonagall: Put an end to it! Don't let Potter compete!
Dumbledore: You heard Barty. The rules are clear.
Professor McGonagall: Well the devil with Barty and his rules! And since when did you accommodate the Ministry?
Professor Snape: Headmaster I too find it difficult to believe this mere coincidence, however, if we are to truly discover the meaning of these events, perhaps we should, for the time being, let them unfold.
Professor McGonagall: Do nothing? Offer him up as bait? Potter is a boy! Not a piece of meat!
Dumbledore: I agree with Severus. Alastor, keep an eye on Harry will you?
Professor Moody: I can do that.
Dumbledore: Don't let him know though, he must be anxious enough as it is, knowing what lies ahead. Then again, we all are.

Dumbledore: The Goblet of Fire! Anyone wishing to submit themselves to the tournament need only write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it in the flame before this hour on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly! If chosen, there's no turning back. As from this moment, The Triwizard Tournament has begun!

Dumbledore: Eternal glory! That's what awaits the student who wins The Triwizard Tournament, but to this that student must survive three tasks. Three EXTREMELY DANGEROUS tasks.
Fred, George: Wicked!

Dumbledore: Your attention please. I'd like to say a few words. Eternal Glory. That is what awaits the Student who wins the Triwizard Tournament. But to do this the Student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks.

Dumbledore: Well now that we're all settled in and sorted, I'd like to make an announcement. This castle will not only be your home this year but home to some very special guests as well. You see, Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event: The Triwizard Tournament. The Tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests. From each school a single student is selected to compete. Now let me be clear. If chosen, you stand alone. And trust me when I say, these contest are not for the faint-hearted. But more of that later.

Cornelius Fudge: For God's sake Dumbledore, what's happened?
Harry: [crying over Cedric's body] He's back! He's back! Voldemort's back! Cedric, he asked me to bring his body back. I couldn't leave him... not there!
Dumbledore: It's all right, Harry... it's all right. He's home, you both are.
Cornelius Fudge: [Rushing over to Professors Snape and McGonagall] Keep everybody in their seats, a boy has just been killed! The body must be moved, Dumbledore, there are too many people!
Amos Diggory: [Pushing his way frantically through the crowd] Let me through. LET ME THROUGH! Let me through, THAT'S MY SON! That's my boy!
[He pushes Harry's hands away and leans over Cedric's body, sobbing hysterically]
Amos Diggory: IT'S MY BOY!

[repeated line]
Dumbledore: At the sound of the cannon...
[cannon fires]

Dumbledore: No spell can reawaken the dead, Harry. I trust you know that. Dark and difficult times lie ahead. Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.

Harry: In the graveyard, my wand and Voldemort's sort of... connected.
Dumbledore: Priori Incantatem.

Dumbledore: People change in the maze. Oh, find the cup if you can. But be very wary; you could just lose yourselves along the way.

Dumbledore: Harry, feel free to treat yourself to a licorice snap. But be careful, they're a wee bit sharp.

Dumbledore: Curiosity is not a sin, Harry. However, from time to time, you should exercise caution.

Dumbledore: [to Harry] I never liked these curtains. I set them on fire in my fourth year. Accidentally, of course.

Dumbledore: Today we acknowledge a really terrible loss. Cedric Diggory was, as you all know, exceptionally hard working, infinitely fair-minded, and most importantly, a fierce, fierce friend. Therefore, I feel you have the right to know exactly how he died. You see, Cedric Diggory was murdered, by Lord Voldemort. The Ministry of Magic does not wish me to tell you this. But not to do so I feel would be an insult to his memory. Now the pain we all feel at this dreadful loss reminds me, and, reminds us, that though we may come from different countries and speak in different tongues, our hearts beat as one. In light of the recent events, the bonds of friendship made this year will be more important than ever. Remember that, and Cedric Diggory will not have died in vain. You remember that, and we'll celebrate a boy who was kind, and honest, and brave, and true. Right to the very end.

Dumbledore: Hogwarts, let's entertain our friends in the best way we can, all stand!
[the entire student body stands up as one]
Dumbledore: Maestro, if you will!
[Professor Flitwick and Dumbledore both begin conducting the students as they sing the school song]
Hogwarts student body: 'Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy warty Hogwarts, teach us something please. Whether we be old and bald or young with scabby knees. Our heads could do with filling with some interesting stuff, for now they're bare and full or air, dead flies and bits of fluff!'
[as they are singing, the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students merely stare, as if they can't believe what they are seeing/hearing]

Dumbledore: Send a message to Azkaban. I think they'll find they're missing a prisoner.
Barty Crouch Junior: [gloating] I'll be welcomed back like a hero!
Dumbledore: Perhaps. Personally, I've never had much time for heroes.

Dumbledore: [from trailer] I'd like to make an announcement! Hogwarts castle will be your home this year, but a home to some very special guests as well.

Dumbledore: [from trailer] Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event.

Dumbledore: [from trailer] And now, champions in action! Viktor Krum! Fleur Delacour! Cedric Diggory! HARRY POTTER!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
Dumbledore: It does not do to dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live.

Dumbledore: What happened down in the dungeon between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret. So, naturally, the whole school knows.

[about Every Flavor Beans]
Dumbledore: I was most unfortunate in my youth to come across a vomit-flavored one, and since then I'm afraid I've lost my liking for them. But, I think I could be safe with a nice toffee.
[eats it]
Dumbledore: Mm, alas, earwax.

Professor McGonagall: Albus, do you really think it safe, leaving him with these people? I've watched them all day. They're the worst sort of Muggles imaginable. They really are...
Dumbledore: The only family he has.
Professor McGonagall: This boy will be famous. There won't be a child in our world who doesn't know his name.
Dumbledore: Exactly. He's far better off growing up away from all of that. Until he is ready.

Dumbledore: It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends.

Dumbledore: Only a person who wanted to find the Stone - find it, but not use it - would be able to get it. That is one of my more brilliant ideas. And between you and me, that is saying something.

Dumbledore: Also, our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you that the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a most painful death.

Dumbledore: Harry, do you know why Professor Quirrell couldn't bear to have you touch him?
[Harry shakes his head]
Dumbledore: It was because of your mother. She sacrificed herself for you, and that kind of act leaves a mark.
[Harry reaches up to touch his scar]
Dumbledore: No, no. This kind of mark cannot be seen. It lives in your very skin.
Harry: What is it?
Dumbledore: Love, Harry. Love.

Professor McGonagall: Are the rumors true, Albus?
Dumbledore: I'm afraid so, Professor. The good... and the bad.

[first lines]
Professor McGonagall: [as a cat] Mraow!
Dumbledore: I should have known that you would be here, Professor McGonagall.
[Professor McGonagall transfigures into her human self]

Dumbledore: Silence!

Dumbledore: Yes,Yes well done Slytherin, well done Slytherin, however recent events must be taken into account, and I have a few last minute points to award.
Dumbledore: To Miss Hermione Granger, for the cool use of intellect when others were in great peril, 50 points.
Dumbledore: Second to Mr. Ronald Weasley, for the best played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen these many years, 50 points.
Dumbledore: And third to Mr. Harry Potter, for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor House 60 points.
Hermione: We're tied with Slytherin!
Dumbledore: And finally, it takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends, I award 10 points, to Mr. Neville Longbottom.
Dumbledore: Assuming that my calculations are correct, I believe a change in decoration is in order.
Dumbledore: Gryffindor wins the house cup!

Professor McGonagall: Are you sure you could trust Hagrid with such an important thing?
Dumbledore: I would trust Hagrid with my own life.
[Hagrid appears on a motorcycle with baby Harry]

Harry: Where's Hermione?
Neville Longbottom: Parvati Patil says that she wouldn't come out of the girls bathroom. She said that she'd been in there all afternoon, crying.
[Harry looks at Ron, who shrugs]
Professor Quirrel: [comes running to Dumbledore] TROLL IN THE DUNGEON! TROLL IN THE DUNGEON!
[Dumbledore and McGonagall stand up, all the kids stare at Quirrell]
Professor Quirrel: Thought you ought to know.
[faints]
Dumbledore: [kids scream] Silence!
[everybody stops screaming]
Dumbledore: Please do not panic. Now, Prefects will lead their house back to the dormitories, and teachers will follow me to the dungeons.
[kids follow Percy, while Snape walks away and closes the door]

Dumbledore: [walks onto Privet Drive and takes out lights with tool] I should have known that you would be here, Professor McGonagall.
[to Professor McGonagall, who is a cat]
Professor McGonagall: [transforms into a human] Good evening, Professor Dumbledore.
[walks with Dumbledore]
Professor McGonagall: Are the rumors true, Albus?
Dumbledore: I'm afraid so, Professor. The good... and the bad.
Professor McGonagall: And the boy?
Dumbledore: Hagrid is bringing him.
Professor McGonagall: Do you think it wise to trust Hagrid with something this important?
Dumbledore: Ah, Professor, I would trust Hagrid with my life.
[Hagrid appears on a flying motorcycle with baby Harry Potter]
Hagrid: Professor Dumbledore, sir, Professor McGonagall.
Dumbledore: No problems, I trust, Hagrid?
Hagrid: No, sir. Little tike fell asleep just as we were flyin' over Bristol. Try not to wake him.
[gives Harry to Dumbledore and McGonagall]
Hagrid: There yeh go.
Professor McGonagall: Albus, do you really think it's safe to leave him with these people? I've watched them all day, they're the worst sort of Muggles imaginable! They really are.
Dumbledore: They're the only family he has.
Professor McGonagall: This boy will be famous. There won't be a child in the world who won't know his name!
Dumbledore: Exactly. He's far better off growing up away from that, until he's ready.
[puts Harry on the Dursley's front step and looks at Hagrid, who is crying]
Dumbledore: There there, Hagrid, it's not really goodbye after all.
[Hagrid nods, while Dumbledore leaves a letter for the Dursleys on Harry]
Dumbledore: Good luck, Harry Potter.
[the camera shoots to Harry's scar]

Dumbledore: Alas, earwax.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
Cornelius Fudge: [just after Buckbeak's escape] We must search the grounds!
Dumbledore: Search the *skies* if you must, Minister, but now I think I'll have a nice cup of tea, or a large brandy. Oh, and executioner, your services are no longer required. Thank you.
Hagrid: You'll find no small glasses in *this* house.

Dumbledore: Mysterious thing, time. Powerful, and when meddled with, dangerous. Sirius Black is in the topmost cell of the dark tower. You know the laws, Miss Granger. You must not be seen, and you would do well, I feel, to return before this last chime. If not, the consequences are too ghastly to discuss. If you succeed tonight, more than one innocent life may be spared. Three turns, should do it, I think.
[He starts to exit, turns back]
Dumbledore: Oh, by the way. When in doubt, I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin. Good luck.
[He exits]
Ron: What the bloody hell was that all about?

Cornelius Fudge: Now write your name only.
Dumbledore: It's quite a long name.

Professor Snape: A remarkable feat, don't you think? To enter the castle on ones own, completely undetected?
Dumbledore: Quite.
Professor Snape: Any theories on how he might have managed it?
Dumbledore: Many. Each as unlikely as the next.
Professor Snape: You may recall, prior to the start of term, I expressed concern about the appointment of Professor...
Dumbledore: Not a single person inside this castle would help Sirius Black to enter it. No, I'm quite convinced the castle is safe, and I'm more than willing to send the students back to their houses.
Professor Snape: What about Potter? Should he be warned?
Dumbledore: Perhaps, but for now let him sleep.

Dumbledore: A child's voice, however honest and true, is meaningless to those who've forgotten how to listen.

Dumbledore: A word of caution: dementors are vicious creatures. They will not distinguish between the one they hunt and the one who gets in their way. Therefore I must warn each and every one of you to give them no reason to harm you. It's not in the nature of a dementor to be forgiving. But you know happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.

Dumbledore: Well?
Harry: He's free. We did it.
Dumbledore: Did what? Good night.

Dumbledore: [to Professor Snape] For in dreams, we enter a world that is entirely our own. Let him swim in the deepest ocean or glide over the highest cloud.

Dumbledore: Professor Kettleburn, our Care of Magical Creatures teacher for many years, has decided to retire in order to spend more time with his remaining limbs.

Hermione: Headmaster, you've got to stop them! They've got the wrong man!
Harry: It's true, sir! Sirius is innocent!
Ron: It's Scabbers who did it.
Dumbledore: Scabbers?
Ron: He's my rat, sir. Well he's not really a rat. Well, he was a rat, he was my brother Percy's rat, but then they gave him an owl, and I got...
Hermione: The *point* is, we know the truth. Please believe us.

Dumbledore: [from trailer] Welcome, welcome to another year of Hogwarts!

Dumbledore: [from trailer] It is not in the nature of the dementor to be forgiving.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011)
Professor Albus Dumbledore: You wonderful boy. You brave, brave man.

Professor Albus Dumbledore: Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living and above all, those who live without love.

Harry Potter: [referring to the Thing beneath the bench] What is that, Professor?
Professor Albus Dumbledore: Something that is beyond either of our help.

Harry Potter: I have to go back, haven't I?
Professor Albus Dumbledore: Oh, that's up to you.
Harry Potter: I have a choice?
Professor Albus Dumbledore: Oh, yes. We're in King's Cross, you say? I think, if you so desired, you'd be able to board a train.
Harry Potter: And where would it take me?
Professor Albus Dumbledore: On.

Harry Potter: Voldemort has the Elder Wand.
Professor Albus Dumbledore: True.
Harry Potter: And the snake's still alive.
Professor Albus Dumbledore: Yes.
Harry Potter: And I have nothing to kill it with.

Professor Albus Dumbledore: Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.

Professor Albus Dumbledore: We both know Lord Voldemort has ordered the Malfoy boy to murder me. But should he fail, I should presume the Dark Lord will turn to you. You must be the one to kill me, Severus. It is the only way. Only then will the Dark Lord trust you completely.
[Flashback of Snape killing Dumbledore]
Professor Albus Dumbledore: There will come a time when Harry Potter must be told something. But you must wait until Voldemort is at his most vulnerable.
Professor Severus Snape: Must be told what?
[Shot of Snape going through the halls of the Potter house]
Professor Albus Dumbledore: On the night Lord Voldemort went to Godric's Hollow to kill Harry, and Lily Potter cast herself between them, the curse rebounded. When that happened, a part of Voldemort's soul lached itself onto the only living thing it could find. Harry himself. There's a reason Harry can speak with snakes. There's a reason he can look into Lord Voldemort's mind. A part of Voldemort lives inside him.
Professor Severus Snape: So when the time comes... the boy must die?
Professor Albus Dumbledore: Yes. Yes... he must die.
[Shot of Snape collapsing at the sight of Lily's dead body]
Professor Severus Snape: You've kept him alive so that he can die at the proper moment. You've been raising him like a pig for slaughter!
Professor Albus Dumbledore: Don't tell me now that you've grown to care for the boy.
[Snape casts a Patronus in the shape of a doe, just like Lily's- the same one that helped Harry find the Sword of Gryffindor in Part 1]
Professor Albus Dumbledore: Lily... after all this time?
[Shot of Snape holding Lily's body in his arms while crying]
Professor Severus Snape: Always.

Professor Albus Dumbledore: [after James and Lilly's deaths] The boy survives.
Professor Severus Snape: He doesn't need protection, the Dark Lord is gone!
Professor Albus Dumbledore: The Dark Lord will return! And when he does, the boy will be in terrible danger! He has her eyes.
[Snape pauses in shock]
Professor Albus Dumbledore: If you truly loved her...
Professor Severus Snape: No one... can know.
Professor Albus Dumbledore: That I shall never reveal the best of you, Severus?

Professor Severus Snape: No! Don't kill me!
Professor Albus Dumbledore: The prophecy did not refer to a women. It spoke of a boy born at the end of July.
Professor Severus Snape: Yes but, he thinks its her son! He intends to hunt them down now, to kill them. Hide her, hide them all. I beg you.
Professor Albus Dumbledore: What will you give me in return, Severus?
Professor Severus Snape: Anything.

Harry Potter: Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?
Professor Albus Dumbledore: Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?

Professor Albus Dumbledore: After all this time?
Professor Severus Snape: Always.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
Albus Dumbledore: Cornelius, I implore you to see reason. The evidence that the Dark Lord has returned is incontrovertible.
Cornelius Fudge: [defiantly] He is not back!

[Dumbledore has arrived at Harry's trial, which was moved up]
Cornelius Fudge: Oh! Albus... I see you got our notice about the time change of the hearing...
Albus Dumbledore: I must have missed it; but by a happy mistake, I arrived at the Ministry three hours early.

Sybil Trelawney: 16 years I've lived and taught here! Hogwarts is my home! You can't do this!
Dolores Umbridge: Actually, I can.
[McGonagall arrives and tries to comfort Trelawney]
Dolores Umbridge: [to McGonagall] Something you'd like to say, dear?
Minerva McGonagall: Oh, there are several things I would like to say!
Albus Dumbledore: [Dumbledore arrives]
Albus Dumbledore: Professor McGonagall, might I ask you to escort Sybil back inside?
Minerva McGonagall: [to Trelawney] Sybil, dear, this way.
Sybil Trelawney: [shakes Dumbledore's hand] Oh, thank you! Thank you!
Dolores Umbridge: Dumbledore, may I remind you that under the terms of Educational Decree #23, as enacted by the Minister...
Albus Dumbledore: You have the right to dismiss my teachers. You do not, however, have the authority to banish them from the grounds. That power remains with the headmaster.
Dolores Umbridge: For now.

Albus Dumbledore: [looking up at Fudge] Charges?
Cornelius Fudge: The Charges to the accused are as follows: that he did willingly, and in the full knowledge of the illegality of his actions, perform a Patronus Charm in the presence of a Muggle.

Albus Dumbledore: [looking down at Harry that is being tortured by Voldemort in his mind] Harry... It's not how you are alike. It's how you are not...

Cornelius Fudge: Dawlish, Shacklebolt, you will escort Dumbledore to Azkaban to await trial for conspiracy.
Albus Dumbledore: Ah, I thought we might hit this little snag. You seem to be laboring under the delusion that I am going to - what is the phrase? - come quietly.

Albus Dumbledore: [after Sirius' death] I know how you feel, Harry.
Harry Potter: No you don't.
[pause]
Harry Potter: It's my fault.
Albus Dumbledore: No, the fault is mine. I knew it was only a matter of time before Voldemort made the connection between you. I thought by distancing myself from you, as I have done all year, he'd be less tempted and therefore you might be more protected.
Harry Potter: The prophecy said neither one can live while the other one survives. It means one of us is going to have to kill the other, in the end.
Albus Dumbledore: Yes.
Harry Potter: Why didn't you tell me?
Albus Dumbledore: For the same reason you tried to save Sirius. For the same reason your friends saved you. After all these years, after all you've suffered, I didn't want to cause you any more pain. I cared too much about you.

Albus Dumbledore: It was foolish of you to come here tonight, Tom. The Aurors are on their way.
Lord Voldemort: By which time I shall be gone, and you... shall be dead!

Albus Dumbledore: Don't fight him Harry, you can't win!

Albus Dumbledore: Witness for the defense, Albus Percival Wulfric... Brian... Dumbledore.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Dumbledore: It is not our abilities that show what we truly are. It is our choices.

Dumbledore: You will find that help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it.
Lucius Malfoy: Admirable sentiments. Shall we? Fudge?
Cornelius Fudge: Come, Hagrid. Well?
Hagrid: If, uh, if anybody was looking for some stuff, then all they'd have to do would be to follow the spiders.
Hagrid: Yup. That would lead 'em right. That's all I have to say.
[Hagrid leaves]

Dumbledore: You both realize, of course, that in the past few hours you have broken perhaps a dozen school rules.
Harry, Ron: Yes, sir.
Dumbledore: And that there is sufficient evidence to have you both expelled.
Harry, Ron: Yes, sir.
Dumbledore: Therefore, it is only fitting that you both receive...
[beams]
Dumbledore: Special Awards for Services to the School.

Lucius Malfoy: So it's true. You have returned.
Dumbledore: When the governors learned that Arthur Weasley's daughter was taken into the chamber, they saw fit to summon me back.
Lucius Malfoy: Ridiculous!
Dumbledore: Curiously, Lucius, several of them were under the impression that you would curse their families if they did not agree to suspend me in the first place.

Harry: Your bird, there was nothing I could do. He just caught fire.
Dumbledore: Oh, and about time too. He's been looking dreadful for days. Pity you had to see him on a burning day.

[Tom watches wizards carry a dead student away]
Dumbledore: Riddle. Come.
Tom Marvolo Riddle: [looks upstairs and sees Dumbledore, who is fifty years younger] Professor Dumbledore.
Harry: Dumbledore?
Dumbledore: It is not wise to be wandering around this late hour, Tom.
Tom Marvolo Riddle: Yes, Professor. I suppose I-I had to see for myself if the rumors were true.
Dumbledore: I'm afraid they are, Tom. They are true.
Tom Marvolo Riddle: About the school, as well? I don't have a home to go to. They wouldn't really close Hogwarts, would they, Professor?
Dumbledore: I understand, Tom. But, I'm afraid Headmaster Dippet may have no choice.
Tom Marvolo Riddle: Sir, if it all stopped. If the person responsible was caught...
Dumbledore: Is there something you wish to tell me?
Tom Marvolo Riddle: No, sir. Nothing.
Dumbledore: [he examines Riddle, but then shrugs it off] Very well, then. Off you go.
Tom Marvolo Riddle: Goodnight, sir.

Dumbledore: [from trailer] Hogwarts is no longer safe. The chamber of secrets has been... opened.

[repeated line]
Dumbledore: Is there anything you wish to tell me?

A Very Potter Sequel (2010) (TV)
Remus Lupin: How much proof is there now! Ah-ah! What you're looking at is the corpse of Peter Pettigrew. The man thought to be killed by Sirius years ago. Can I get a time of death on this please?
Neville Longbottom: Well, I'm no coroner, but, uh, looks like he was killed ten minutes, and, uh thirty-six seconds ago.
Remus Lupin: Thanks, Neville. How could Sirius have killed him years ago if he's only been dead for ten and a half minutes?
Molly Weasley: Yeah! Why does he look all FRESHLY bloody. And mangled. And... dirty.
Arthur Weasley: Yeah! How'd he end up like that? Lupin!
Remus Lupin: Yes! Probably the work of that... infamous Hogwarts... Jaguar.
Albus Dumbledore: Makes sense to me!
Remus Lupin: Yes! The Hogwarts jaguar... Responsible for so much property damage to Hogwarts this year! Especially in my office... *cough*cough* Lupin shouldn't have to pay for that... Yes... Who said that?... Probably that jaguar! Bless his soft adorable paws that he trips over when he's running to fast...

Albus Dumbledore: Disapparate!
Harry Potter, Severus Snape, Hermione Granger, Albus Dumbledore, Ron Weasley, Dolores Umbridge, Sirius Black: Ahh! Magic!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) (VG)
