Arguably Lord Voldemort's most loyal and pure evil Death Eater, Bellatrix Lestrange is one of the main antagonists of the Harry Potter series. She is pure evil, and believes in a pure blooded wizarding race, much like her master. She's married to Rhodolphus Lestrange, who along with his brother Rabastan, is a Death Eater. Despite this, she has been in love with Lord Voldemort, only marrying Rodolphus so that she remains loyal to the pureblood way. Sickeningly sarcastic and sadistic, she shows no remorse for anything that she does, even killing fellow pureblood and cousin Sirius Black. She finds torturing her victims before killing to be the most satisfying. She is also the sister of Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy, making her the aunt of Nymphadora Tonks and Draco Malfoy. Bellatrix Lestrange is also one of the Death Eaters who participated in the torture of Frank and Alice Longbottom, Neville Longbottom's parents, by used of the Cruciatus Curse. She is called Bella, short for Bellatrix, by Voldemort, the Death Eaters, and people who know her well.
Harry Potter makes her lose her wand, and Hermione Granger begins to use it after the night at Malfoy Manor. Bellatrix kills Dobby, the House-Elf while the protagonists are flying out the Manor. The Cup of Hufflepuff, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes, was placed in her vault in Gringotts. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger and Griphook stole it. Later, she participates in the Battle of Hogwarts and kills her own niece, Nymphadora Tonks. Finally, when she tries to kill Ginny Weasley, an enraged Molly Weasley appears and duels her, defeating her with a powerful killing curse.
Bellatrix appears in each of the final 3 installments of the Harry Potter series (Order, Prince, Hallows), played by Helena Bonham Carter in the films. She appears in Goblet of Fire as well, but only in the book.
