General Veers was an Imperial military officer under the command of Darth Vader. He played a vital role in fight against Rebel forces on the frozen planet of Hoth.

Veers is present when Captain Piett presents a transmission from a probe droid in the Hoth System to Admiral Ozzel and Darth Vader. Insisting that their Rebel enemies are on Hoth, Vader orders the fleet to the system and has Veers prepare his men.

After an energy shield is detected on the sixth planet of the system, Veers reports this to Vader. He has the rare opportunity to see Vader without his helmet on and is repulsed but discreet about it. The Sith Lord blames the loss of surprise on Ozzel and orders Veers to prepare his men for a surface attack. After landing outside the energy shield, Veers and his men begin their advance on the rebel base in Imperial Walkers. The walkers are tall, four-legged machines with strong armour and enormous firepower. Veers directs the advance from the lead walker, while giving Vader updates on their progress.

The rebels put up a valiant fight and manage to destroy at least two walkers, but they are unable to halt the Imperial advance. The general orders all his troops to debark for a ground attack. When they are closer, Veers has the shield generator targeted and opens fire. The volley destroys its target, which takes out the energy shield and makes it possible for Vader and more troops to land at the base.
