Gordon Max Palmer grew up in Kentucky. He was the oldest of 5 brothers. He moved to California and worked various jobs including a movie extra, golf caddy, auto mechanic and settled into being a studio grip for the motion picture industry. One of the most notable locations was Egypt to work on the movie The Ten Commandments in the early 1950's.
In 1936, Gordon married Tully Joyce Hearn (1914-1977). They lived in Hollywood and then moved to Burbank to raise their three daughters, Patricia, Susan and Cathy.
His hobbies were golf, painting, auto mechanic and photography. Gordon was very handy and could fix just about anything!
One morning a couple of weeks before he died, Gordon was found in the bed but in a coma. The day before he was playing golf which was his usual pass time in his retired years. He was hospitalized in Burbank and passed away never coming out of a coma on January 17, 1976.
