Bethesda Softworks’ CEO Todd Howard is riding high on the success of the series Fallout. Based on the games of the same name, the Amazon Prime Video series was set in the same universe and was developed as an original story. The show stars Ella Purnell as Lucy, a Vault-dweller who goes to the post-apocalyptic surface in search of her father.
The show was regarded as a great adaptation of the games. Despite not particularly based on any of the games, the show had enough lore to make it part of the same universe and hence had multiple Easter Eggs for the fans. One scene that Howard insisted on keeping in the show was a scene where Lucy gets out of the Vault, which is in every game.

While fans of the Showtime series Yellowjackets (read our review of season 2 Here) patiently wait to see the bonus episode that’s going to air sometime between the second and third seasons, the third season of the show has already been filming in Canada, aiming for a 2025 premiere. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, cast member Christina Ricci started building the hype for Yellowjackets season 3 by saying it’s going to be more surprising and shocking than what came before… and it’s going to be brutal.
Ricci said, “This season is going to be even more shocking and surprising than the previous seasons. It’s definitely going to be brutal. But they also put a lot of comedy into it. So I think it’s just going to be… extremely Yellowjackets-y.“

Among the many challenges that Jonathan Nolan faced when adapting Bethesda’s popular Fallout video game into a television series were narrowing the massive scope of the story — and finding the perfect people to tell it through.
Unlike other video games that have gotten a live-action adaptation, Fallout is a role playing game that requires the player to make choices that may alter the course of the story. It was creators and showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet who decided on an ensemble, that way every viewer could see themselves in someone on screen.
Enter Ella Purnell as the goodie-two-shoes vault dweller Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as the morally ambiguous Maximus, and Walton Goggins as the chaotic evil Ghoul. While all three of these actors faced challenges, Moten faced the especially tedious task of always toeing a line between the angel and the devil on his shoulders.

Fans Predict the Next League of Legends Animated Series Following Fortiche x Riot Announcement - Main Image
Arcane may be ending with its second season, but there is a silver lining for fans. That’s because the series’ co-creator revealed that more new League of Legends animated series will be made in partnership with Fortiche.
Speaking to Variety, Arcane co-creator Christian Linke said that there are still “many stories to tell” in the world of League of Legends and that Riot Games and Fortiche Productions will continue to tell them.
This is great news for fans as it means more characters and locales from the world of Runeterra will be explored. Currently, though, there’s no word on what specific stories will be adapted.
Arcane Will Officially End in Season 2

Netflix has finally released a full trailer for the second season of its acclaimed animated steampunk sci-fi series, Arcane.
Good news for fans of the show, but we do also have some bad: Arcane will not return for a third season.
This doesn't mean that we won't see more stories set in the League of Legends universe, however.
“Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche,” said co-creator Christian Linke in a statement. “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of ‘Arcane’ wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”

For fans of Netflix's epic animated video game adaptation Arcane, we've got a real good news, bad news situation on our hands. The good news is, after teasing the Emmy award-winning League Of Legends spin-off's upcoming second season during last week's Next On Netflix: Animation event, today the streamer dropped a jaw-slackening first full trailer for the series, which is set to hit the platform this November. The not-so-good news is that Arcane Season 2 will also be the show's final series (boo!). But despair not, before it all ends there's still plenty of story left to tell as the Piltovans and Zaunites — and sisters Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell) — head for all-out war. Now here's that new trailer;
The heartstopping climax of Arcane's first season saw Jinx launch a Hextech gemstone powered rocket at Piltover's Council, bringing the tensions between the steampunk city of Piltover and the seedy,...

Today is both a good and awful day for animation fans. "Arcane," the single best animated show from Netflix and one of the greatest works of animation in the last decade, got a new trailer for its upcoming second season. But the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad news is that the second season of "Arcane" will also be its last. "This November, witness the Final Chapter," states the latest trailer.
According to Variety, co-creator Christian Linke said this is only the first "of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra," with the story of "Arcane" wrapping up in its second season because they "had a very specific ending in mind" since the start. Whether they always wanted two seasons, or if the show's incredibly prohibitive budget and recent lay-offs at parent company Riot Games made it hard to justify a third season, is unknown. Based on the popular League of Legends video game, Netflix’s Arcane has become a hit with both critics and fans, regardless of whether they’re actually fans of the game or not. The animated series’ first season was received with critical acclaim and became the first streaming series to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program and an Annie Award for Best General Audience Animated Television Broadcast Production. Despite the success, though, the first season came out way back in 2021, and while Netflix promised more content, we have only recently received confirmation that the second season would be released in November 2024 on Netflix, and the streaming platform has just released the first official teaser for the upcoming season!
In case you don’t know, the official synopsis of the series is as follows:
Arcane dives into the delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun.

Netflix Animation held its first slate preview event June 6 at the Tudum in L.A., as a lead-up to the Annecy Animation Festival (June 9-15), where it will premiere Shannon Tindle’s “Ultraman: Rising” (streaming June 14) and tout some of its upcoming works in 2024 and 2025.
Hosted by Christopher Sean (the voice star of “Ultraman: Rising”), attendees were treated to exclusive presentations, previews, and special announcements. The biggest announcement was the full title of Aardman’s next stop-motion feature, “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” which will have an Oscar-qualifying run this winter before streaming in 2025.
Directed by franchise creator Nick Park and creative director Merlin Crossingham, who offered a pre-recorded introduction, “Vengeance Most Fowl” marks the return of the villainous penguin, Feathers McGraw, from the Oscar-winning short “The Wrong Trousers.” The film is a cautionary tale of high-tech gone wrong involving an out-of-control “smart gnome” with a mind of its own.

Fallout launched two months ago with a big question hovering over it — could another postapocalyptic streaming drama based on a video game also become a hit after the success of HBO’s The Last of Us? Any doubts were quickly erased, with Fallout racking up a 92 percent average positive review score on Rotten Tomatoes and breaking Prime Video streaming records with its sprawling tale of three very different survivors (played by Ella Purnell, Aaron Clifton Moten and Walton Goggins) navigating a nuclear wasteland amid moments of graphic violence and off-beat humor.

Whether exploring post-apocalyptic wastelands or the far reaches of space, it’s easy to get lost in the visual language of a video game world. Transitioning that experience into a cinematic storytelling form is no easy task, but this season has seen more than a few production designers square up to the challenge.
Fallout takes some visual models from the Bethesda game series for an entirely new story, Halo grounds the sci-fi game universe with real world architecture, and although The Witcher exists as a video game series, the Netflix series version focuses on finding depth in Andrzej Sapkowski’s original fantasy novels.

Science fiction and fantasy have inspired dozens of great television scores through the years, from “Battlestar Galactica” to “Game of Thrones.” Three more streaming series continued that tradition this season: “Silo,” “Fallout” and “3 Body Problem.”
Atli Örvarsson’s music for “Silo,” the Apple TV+ dystopian drama set in a bleak future where everyone lives in underground silos, was initially inspired by the setting. “It’s a mechanized world,” he says. “The technology you see is very, very old; the computers look like they’re from the ’80s, so there was always this idea that even the electronic sounds should be primitive, not slick.”

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner are longtime friends, but the two had never worked together. “Fallout” proved to be the perfect starting point. “Graham wrote one of my very favorite unproduced pilots ever, which was to the great ‘Star Trek’ show ‘Worf,’ which Graham always described as the ‘Baskets’ of a ‘Star Trek’ show,” Robertson-Dworet tells Gold Derby (watch above). “But I think what it showed me was that he has a really unique sensibility and he brought to that show — which is a very popular world that has been explored and very serious sci-fi tone for a long time — a lot of just sort of surprising comedy. That is a jump from the 17 million players “Fallout 76” had totaled in December, ahead of the April 10 release of Jonathan Nolan’s “Fallout” TV adaptation on Prime Video.
“It’s kind of been sneaky popular for a while — but not to this level and it’s just been really great for the for the whole studio,” Bethesda director and executive producer Todd Howard, who oversees the “Fallout” franchise, told Variety.
In the under two months since the series premiered (and has already been picked up for a second season), daily active users across the “Fallout” video game franchise titles developed and published by Bethesda, a division of Microsoft Gaming, have ballooned over 600% to more than 5 million players.

Jonathan Nolan has certainly begun to make a name for himself in the mainstream media. While he has made many worthwhile and critically acclaimed projects over the years, none have managed to get as much attention as the recently released, Fallout. When the adaptation of the iconic video game was originally announced, fans were naturally very nervous. However, since its release, all its reviews have been nothing but positive.
Jonathan Nolan [Credit: Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast]Knowing how well he has been able to contribute to making sure the adaptation was just as accurate as it was entertaining, it would not be surprising that more retellings are coming his way. However, it would seem that there are two franchises Nolan refuses to take part in.

The crowd at Los Angeles’ DGA Theater was treated to two Nolans for the price of one on Tuesday night, as Christopher Nolan joined brother Jonathan Nolan for a For Your Consideration event in support of the latter’s Fallout series.
Jonathan executive produced the Prime Video show — based on the popular video game exploring a postapocalyptic Los Angeles — as well as directed three of the episodes. The Oppenheimer filmmaker brought Jonathan to the stage by introducing him as “my baby brother,” as the two dove into a wide-ranging chat that touched on their previous collaboration on The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises (which they co-wrote and Christopher directed).
Jonathan noted at one point that in forming a video game into a series, “I watched the way that you adapted Batman from comic books to film and I think the underlying idea was treated with respect, not to...

Neither used the word “bro” and there was zero talk about any sibling rivalry or late-night phone calls about their respective work woes, but Emmy voters who wanted to learn more about Amazon’s Fallout were treated Tuesday to an interview with Executive Producer Jonathan Nolan by his Oscar-winning sibling, Christopher.
Jonathan Nolan — who was introduced by the Oppenheimer director as “my baby brother” — talked about directing the drama based on a post-apocalyptic video game and how the role of the Ghoul was specifically written for Walton Goggins. But the 40-minute conversation at the DGA Theater also offered some insight into how the siblings collaborate and routinely inspire one another.
“The exciting thing for me with this project was knowing that we needed showrunners to carry the story forward,” Jonathan Nolan told his brother about creators Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner. “I thought there was an opportunity for me to...

Last Thursday, FX confirmed that its adaptation of James Clavell’s “Shōgun” will continue past its first season and thus compete as a drama series rather than a limited one at the upcoming Emmys. Since it had spent the preceding three weeks as Gold Derby’s predicted Best Limited Series winner and was expected to reap several acting nominations, every drama and limited race was shaken up by its reclassification – and the dust still has not settled.
Within 48 hours of the “Shōgun” shift, our 2,500+ Emmy predictors came to the consensus that it will be nominated for Best Drama Series and all of the corresponding main acting awards. Even lead actor Cosmo Jarvis and supporting actress Moeka Hoshi, who never quite managed to reach predicted nominee status before, quickly broke into our forecasted drama lineups. As buyers touch down at Lax for the annual LA Screenings, it will be a case of a return to the norm following the unusual circumstances of last year. The Hollywood labor strikes not only threw confusion on what would be a realistic purchase, but also stopped acquisitions executives getting face time (and a quick selfie) with acting and writing talent — something many value as part of their buying process.
There will be no such issues this year, and the studio sales bosses are relishing a return to the norm. “We’re really excited, it feels like we’re really back after the strikes and firing on all cylinders,” says David Decker, President of Content Sales for Warner Bros. Discovery (Wbd). “We have an abundance of titles that run the gamut of broadcast and streaming in drama and comedy. We’ll be showing the best of what Wbd stands for.

Both House of the Dragon and Fallout immediately became international hits, and they share quite a few similarities between them — they both throw immensely talented but ultimately underrated actors into increasingly dangerous situations in beloved fictional worlds that were once very niche. Speaking of HotD and Fallout’s stars, though, these series brought many of them the recognition they deserved.
And now, they’re ready to tackle their next big challenge: killer squirrels. What?
New Horror Comedy Stars Talents from Iconic Shows
As recently reported by Screen Daily, director Craig Roberts is currently working on a new project: a horror comedy movie with an utterly bizarre premise. In The Scurry, a band of deranged killer squirrels decides to seek revenge on the visitors and staff of a nearby eco-café, leading the mortified and terrified humans to defend themselves.
For his upcoming flick, Roberts booked two stars from the biggest sensations of the past two years.

Eli Roth’s Borderlands will finally hit theaters this August, almost nine years after its announcement. The film, based on the critically acclaimed video game franchise of the same name, underwent several script changes and production delays. The Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart starrer’s trailer was a mixed bag.
Moreover, fans of the game franchise are skeptical of the big screen medium as it may not have the time to establish different storylines starting from the 2009 game.

A popular suggestion among the video game fanbase was to make Borderlands into an animated series. This animated version would be a much better way to bring the world-building, numerous characters, and their complex interconnected storylines onto the screen.

Yellowjackets fans will be eating good soon as season 3 will be on its way to your screens with production officially starting. The third year of our favorite schoolgirls was one of the victims of a great delay due to the dual union strikes in Hollywood last year. However, there would be a bonus episode in between the second and third season that would whet viewers’ appetites before the true continuation occurred.
The official Yellowjackets account on social media has just dropped an announcement that filming on season 3 has officially taken off. The announcement is followed by some teaser photos of the camp with one picture showcasing the script for the premiere episode. The post reads, “We know you’re starving… #Yellowjackets Season 3 is officially in production.” Which is then followed by a clapperboard emoji and a bee yellowjacket emoji. You can view the photos below.
